Essential Information

Visa Requirements

All foreigners need to obtain a visa to enter Nepal, which you can get from a Nepalese Embassy abroad or upon your Nepal arrival. Most people will get their visas upon arrival at Kathmandu Airport.

You will need a photo, and the following charges depend on:

  • 15 days $25 or equivalent convertible currency
  • 30 days $40 or equivalent convertible currency
  • 90 days $100 or equivalent convertible currency

Cultural Considerations

For those of you visiting Nepal, we recommend cultural information to help you adjust and feel comfortable:

The dress code is essential for men and women. Men and women should wear pants instead of shorts when traveling to Kathmandu. Women must try to be as modest as possible in these situations.

Hindus are concerned about ritual contamination of food when touched by someone outside their caste or religion. Therefore, do not feel any exposed cooked food and, when drinking from a container used by others, avoid touching your lips. Do not take food with your left hand and make sure you give or receive food only with your right hand. Shoes are considered degrading, so keep them on the ground and take them off before putting your feet on anything. If you enter a Nepalese house, follow your host's example to decide to remove your shoes, but when you enter a temple or monastery, you must remove them.

You will pass Buddhist walls, chortens, and Buddhist stupas along the way, follow local traditions, and turn them to your right.

Travel insurance

Travel insurance for any itinerary of our company is a condition of vacation booking. At a minimum, you must have emergency medical insurance and repatriation insurance, which must include the cost of mountain rescue, theft, loss, damage, and clinical problems is an excellent idea for traveling to Nepal. There are a wide variety of policies. Please read the general conditions of your insurers carefully, particularly in the vital part, which is correctly written in small print. Some policies exclude "dangerous activities" (including driving and riding a motorcycle, and certainly bungee jumping and rafting).

Choose a policy covering clinical and emergency repatriation, including the evacuation of helicopters for hikers and general medical evacuation. You may prefer a policy that pays at hospitals directly rather than spending on the spot and claim later. In Nepal, most clinical treatments must be paid for at delivery. If your insurance company does not make a down payment, make sure you get receipts to claim later.

It would be very nice if you understood that you will ultimately be responsible for all expenses incurred in the evacuation and repatriation procedures and that you are responsible for paying the costs incurred in the event of an evacuation or medical treatment. You should be fully aware of the implications of organizing your travel insurance and understanding your policy's limitations and exclusions. Please note that our company guide may initiate rescue procedures by helicopter (or any other necessary means) in medical emergencies without first contacting your insurance company for approval in certain circumstances.

FAQs

Traveling by land offers more experience and local culture in Nepal. With our private, well-equipped vehicles, operated by experienced drivers, we guarantee safe transportation to your visit destinations. Yes, some domestic flights connect each of the cities, and in some instances, it might be more convenient.

10 Days Nepal Tour: Kathmandu, Pokhara, Lumbini, Chitwan Tour Review

Nepal Tour & Trekking service P. Ltd. produced a ten-day tour for my visit to Nepal, which included a short trek to Ghorepani poon Hill and a two-day tour in Pokhara. Two-day tour in Lumbini and two days in Chitwan before returning to Kathmandu for the last night and tour. One day in Kathmandu before returning home. I had the best trekking and tour guides, the best drivers, and the best time. Mr. Kishor, General Manager, stayed in daily contact with me to ensure everything was in order. My guide showed me personally the sights in Kathmandu. He made my trip very pleasant.  I was very impressed by the people of Nepal and the extraordinary architecture of the ancient cities. I will return to Nepal. I wish you all the best for your company and your family.
